Well, FINALLY~~ Here I go. I will be posting a New recipe each week. I love baking so I thought I would share some recipes.
Today I want to share a “Fried Pie” recipe with you….Southern TEXAS Style 🙂 I personally like to save time where I can , BUT yet get that Home Made taste!!

Fried Pies
~ For the dough…I just use the store bought ready made in your refrigerator section.

2 apples
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Tablespoon butter
1 cup vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS
Peel and dice apples. Add sugar and cinnamon. Cook in a saucepan on low heat. Cook until soft.
Open the pkg. dough on a floured board. Cut with a large cookie cutter (4 inches in diameter).
In each round, place 1 heaping tablespoon fruit. Moisten edges with cold water, fold and press edge with a fork.
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Fry pies, a few at a time, 2 to 3 minutes on each side; cook until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar or glaze.
Glaze recipe:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Wisk together the powdered sugar,milk and vanilla extract. using a pastry brush, glaze the warm pieces. Serve immediately. Mangia!
