Top with ice cream or whipped topping~~ If you so desire~Mangia!

This is an easy recipe, CONVENIENT, affordable, and GOOD tasting. You can use ground beef, turkey, or chicken. This is a filling sandwich, and is one of our favorites. I have some picky eaters at my house…so I do some adjusting…I make one half of the loaf with the tomatoes and green peppers, the other half gets the filling and cheese. I  have also substitude the chopped onions and use onion powder, again, start with like a 1/2 tsp. and mix, then see if it is to you taste liking. It still turns out just as good, so use what you have in the pantry or what you like according to your taste buds!!! This feeds about 6 so, you can always half the recipe for less servings. Any left overs we warm up and it is just as tasty!

2 Pounds of your choice ground meat

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 loaf French Bread or Italian Bread~ YOUR choice

Butter or Margarine, softened

1 cup (8 oz.) Sour Cream

1 can Cream Of Mushroom 10 oz. ( If you don’t like this~ Then add 2 cups sour cream)

2 tomatoes seeded and diced

1 large green pepper, diced

3 Cups (12 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

~ In a skillet, brown the ground meat and onions. Add salt, garlic powder, pepper, and Cream of Mushroom ,mix well.  Cut bread length wise in half: Butter both halves and place on baking sheets.  Remove meat mixture from the heat: Stir in sour cream. Spoon onto the bread. Sprinkle with tomatoes, green pepper and cheese. Bake @ 350 for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Bake longer if you want the bread crisper…Mangia!!
